Once upon a dream in a time where families where important and jobs were a necessity and money a dream, lived 3 girls who loved coffee. One day while prancing and dancing to their exercise class, a thought occured to one such short one.
"Ted, Ted, quick I have an idea," exclaimed Ed*.
"Do tell. Does it have to do with coffee?" pondered Ted*.
"Mickey D's* has their free coffees on Monday mornings from 7a to 7p. Let's go around the town and get all the free ones we can on one morning," explained Ed.
"What a plan and a great thought. We shall take our thermos' for the extra, a map with all the locations plotted out and I will call Ned* to see if she wants to come along for the buzz," planned Ted.
As all 3 got together, with map and thermos' in hand and a evil coffee laugh to follow, they set off to find that there was actually 11 Mickey D's in town but only 9 served the free coffee. With a camera to record each order placed and many laughs that followed, the 3 hours will often be fondly remembered. If only Mickey D's headquarteres would ask for a interview or a commercial spot. But, alas and no. They had no clue that they passed out so many free coffees that morning to the same silver car and same 3 friends. But the friends knew and had a satisfied smile that they got a small payback for all the burgers and fries they had bought throughout the years for their hungry kids.

Thoughts on Bogota and Beyond
Okay, I just spent the last 20 minutes typing a post all, to lose it when I pushed the wrong button. Technology isn't necessarily my thing. One more time...
The trip to Bogota, Colombia was in a word...incredible. The team was great and all seemed to get along. Everyone seemed to fit into a nitch of what they did best and everyone was okay with that. The missionaries were super to us. They were fun to be around and have a heart for God's work and the people of South America. The Colombians were generous and caring. They always wanted to make us feel comfortable and cared for. It still amazes me that through such a short time you can become so deeply attached to a place and a people group that you are sadden and tears come to your eyes when you leave. Through jump roping, arm wrestling, UNO playing, singing praises to God, visiting about everyday things, skits, human videos, testimonies and dishing out liberal doses of hugs and kisses, God can move beyond language barriers and cultural differences.
I am thankful to have been a part of this trip and hope to do so again. I was blessed to see first hand the movement of the Holy Spirit on my son and the youth in our church that also went.
Be bold in all you do for Christ. Mice are seldom heard and even less seen.

Greetings from the short side. Boy, you really do blink and time zooms on by. Saw this video on you tube called Original Elephant Painting. How can anyone see this and think that animals are dumb or lack feeling. We live on an amazing earth. Thank you, God.
Also, on you tube is a totally awesome video called African Thunderstorm (unsure of exact name but is a music group from Slovenia). I like the first part especially but it is all good.
Well, the kids are back from camp. They have a good but slightly exhausting time. Thank you to the staff and everyone that helps make summer church camp a possibility. If we plant the seed early, then the roots have a chance to grow strong.
In Christ.

Farewell to thee my fine feathered friend
Farewell to thee my fine feathered friend
Our relationship has come to an end
Bird seed left uneaten
How short was our meetin'
Where you've gone, we do not know
Perhaps you've met your true love named Flo
And she whisked you off to Greece
We wish you love, joy and peace.
(Okay, Okay. I hear you...Please stop with the poems. They are horrible. The are even deplorable...:)

Ode to a peacock
Lo and behold! What my wondering eyes do see
but a peacock sitting by my house in a tree.
All elegant, poised and in control...
Why don't we call gas petrol?
Looking here, there and everywhere,
His feathers flutter in the air.
With a cry of help, he struts around,
calmly pacing on the ground.
An exotic name we wanted for him,
not very foriegn was the name Jim.
His name we shall call Salim.
He shall be captain of our team.
With 30 cats to wait upon him,
hopefully he will stay on that limb.
And if ever his guard he let down,
we will have the prettiest feather arrangement in town.
